I've occasionally been the subject of cartoons — or victim of cartoonists (take your pick) — especially related to my work in the field of gaming. Here are some of the results; I'll add more as they become available.

South Park Allston, 2004There are online services where you can re-create yourself as a South Park or Simpsons character. My Simpsons self-portrait was not very successful, but I seem to be well-suited to the South Park cartoon style. |

Stick Figure Theater, May 1995
Artist Chris Avellone used to assail the Champions gaming world with his Stick Figure Theatre, which appeared in APAzines and on Theala Sildorian's home page. Above is a series pertaining to me... Illustrations by Chris Avellone, copyright © 1995 by Chris Avellone |

Chumpions Appearance, March 1990Scott Heine's Chumpions feature appeared in several issues of APAzines devoted to the Champions game. This is one panel from its very first appearance, a cruel send-up of The Wizard of Oz, in which preposterous characters who appeared in the old Enemies game supplements but were cut from the revised Classic Enemies are off to see the Guru (yours truly). Space Gamer Caricature, Summer 1983During a periodic revamp of Space Gamer magazine, which I edited, publisher Steve Jackson arranged for the two of us to be caricatured for our respective editorial columns. Artist Mel. White, a lady of wicked wit and charm, did the honors. A note of distinction for this particular piece: Because SJ Games acquired all rights to it when it was commissioned and subsequently transferred them to me, this is the only piece of Mel. White art that can legally appear on the Web. If you see another piece with her signature under it, it means that someone is doing her a serious disservice; please let me know about it. Napkin Art, 1982This was a collaboration between Austin-area artists Denis Loubet and Brian McLean, executed on a napkin at a restaurant —; Denis being in the habit of leaving napkin art at restaurants all over town. The "universe" of the title is a role-playing game universe. I appreciate this piece of art because it's the most malevolent one of me ever done.
